HVAC SEO

SEO for HVAC Contractors, in the Words Your Customers Type

Essheo provides SEO for HVAC contractors, from heating and air conditioning firms to heat pump installers. In the customer searches we checked, people used air conditioning and heat pump wording far more than HVAC, so our HVAC SEO builds your pages and profile around their words, for Google, the map pack and ChatGPT, led by senior specialists.

Some of the brands we have worked with

Who this is for

HVAC companies we work with

  • Domestic air conditioning installers

Ahrefs' UK data, checked in September 2026, puts "air conditioning installation" first of the customer searches we looked at, averaging about 2,500 a month; an AI Overview and a map pack appear. Explain what shapes a quote, as homeowners ask about cost.

  • Commercial HVAC contractors

"Commercial air conditioning" draws about 1,200 searches a month, two thirds from a computer, with product listings among the results. Maintenance contract pages and project write-ups show that you install and look after systems.

  • Heat pump installers

"Heat pump installers near me" gets about 800 searches a month and is, by Ahrefs' measure, the hardest to rank for of those we checked. People also search "how to choose a heat pump installer"; answer it on your page.

  • Repair and maintenance firms

"Air conditioning repair" draws about 1,600 searches a month, a third on phones. Accurate hours help in its map pack, a repair page should work well on desktop, and a maintenance plan page can turn one-off repairs into contracts.

What we do

  • How UK customers search for heating and cooling work

We looked at five customer searches in Ahrefs' UK monthly averages, checked in September 2026: "air conditioning installation", "air conditioning repair", "commercial air conditioning", "heat pump installers near me" and "HVAC companies near me". The one using the word HVAC was the smallest, about 200 a month against 2,500 for installation, and the top-ranked page for it gets its biggest share of search traffic from "air conditioning engineer near me". All five showed a map pack; none was searched mostly on a phone. Cooling searches rise in summer and heating searches in winter, so pages should be live before their season.

Our HVAC SEO services

  1. Pages in your customers' words

Air conditioning installation and repair, heat pumps, commercial systems and maintenance plans each get a page built on the phrases people really search, with HVAC used where searchers use it themselves.

  2. Map listings on Google and Apple

The right profile categories for your heating and cooling work, the services you offer, the areas you truly cover, hours you keep and photos of installed units, with Apple Maps matched under our Local SEO work.

  3. Answers before the quote

People ask what installation costs, how to choose a heat pump installer and what a survey involves. Clear answers under matching headings give People Also Ask and AI Overviews something to quote, the core of Answer Engine Optimisation.

  4. Speed and site structure

Load times, Core Web Vitals, mobile layout, structured data, indexing and internal linking, tested on desktop as closely as on phones, since most heating and cooling searches we checked came from a computer.

  5. Named in AI answers

When someone asks a voice assistant "who repairs heat pumps near me", it reads out one firm. Matching business details everywhere and a regular stream of new reviews improve your odds, and Generative Engine Optimisation tracks the result.

Plumbing and HVAC firms working mostly on boilers and pipework will find a closer fit in SEO for Plumbers or SEO for Gas Engineers.

  • What heat pump search has taught us

Two of our published case studies cover heat pump search: one for a comparison platform, the other for a training provider. Eco Happy, an independent comparison platform, was built to generate UK leads for heat pumps, solar and heating. More than 300 boiler pages came first, each built for a key search intent; the 250-plus renewables pages that followed included air source heat pumps. For Future Training, which teaches accredited heat pump courses to engineers moving into renewables, our plan targeted searches such as "gas engineer to heat pump installer" and built FAQ-rich pages with direct answers to key questions. Your heat pump pages follow the same approach.

How it works

How SEO for HVAC contractors runs with the seasons

The first ninety days run in this order.

  • Step 1 of 4: Check summer and winter pages

Weeks one and two test your site against both seasons: whether air conditioning pages are ready before summer and heating pages before winter. We also see which firms local searches and AI assistants favour.

  • Step 2 of 4: Fix listings and near misses

From week three: profile categories checked against your heating and cooling work, speed and mobile fixes, and one more push for service pages already on page two.

  • Step 3 of 4: Build service and commercial pages

Months two and three: installation, repair, heat pump and maintenance plan pages, the coming season's first; commercial pages with project write-ups; then area pages, pre-quote answers and a review routine.

  • Step 4 of 4: Report by service and season

Monthly: enquiries split into installation, repair and maintenance, map pack and AI visibility, how demand moved with the season, and the coming month's priorities, set with you in advance.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Be found by more of the people already searching for the work you want most, across Google, its map pack and AI answers. Service pages in customers' words, a fully completed Google Business Profile, reviews and a sound website do that work.

An HVAC company installs, repairs and maintains heating and cooling systems, from air conditioning to heat pumps, for homes, businesses or both. The question is searched in its own right, so name the jobs on your pages, not only the trade.

Catch each kind of search, then keep the customers it brings. Installation, repair and commercial work are searched in different words, so each gets a page, and a maintenance plan page gives repair customers a reason to stay. Our audit sets the order from what local rivals already hold.

Through paid and organic search together. Google Ads can cover summer air conditioning demand while pages gain ground, and the pages keep working once the ads stop. Fourteen years of buying heating and home energy leads taught our founder to judge HVAC digital marketing by enquiries, not clicks.

Yes. An AI Overview showed on "air conditioning installation" but not on "commercial air conditioning", where a map pack and product listings appeared instead. Where AI does answer, most of what it relies on is built by the same work that ranks you in Google.

It varies with scope: the services and areas you want and who holds them now. By Ahrefs' measure, "heat pump installers near me" was the hardest search we checked. Before you commit, we compare your site with the firms ranking near you.
