Who this is for

Travel businesses we work with

Travel agent SEO starts from how each business sells.

  • High street travel agents

Searches for "travel agents near me" return a map pack, and the reviews there count towards ranking as well as giving people a reason to trust you. Every branch needs its own fully completed Google Business Profile.

  • Tailor-made holiday specialists

"Tailor made holidays" is searched slightly more on desktops, and Google shows paid ads and an AI Overview on it. Each destination and style of trip you design needs its own page; one general holidays page cannot compete for them all.

  • Tour operators

Ahrefs rates "escorted tours" hard to rank for. Instead of leaning on that one phrase, give each group tour and bespoke tour you run a dedicated page, named in the words travellers search with.

  • Homeworking and independent agents

If you arrange honeymoon packages or family holidays, each needs a page of its own. Mobile accounts for 68% of "honeymoon packages" searches (Ahrefs UK, September 2026), so those pages have to work on a small screen.

What we do

  • How travellers search before they book

Of the four traveller searches we measured, three name a kind of trip and one looks for an agent close by. In Ahrefs UK data for September 2026, "honeymoon packages" is searched about 2,000 times a month, "escorted tours" 700 and "tailor made holidays" 600; "travel agents near me" reaches 3,300, mostly on phones (87%), and brings up a map pack. "Tailor made holidays" and "escorted tours" are searched slightly more on desktops, and both carry an AI Overview in Google's results. Where ChatGPT or Perplexity is asked which travel company to use, the answer names one or two, and other agents and operators do not appear.

Our travel SEO services

  1. Branch listings on Google and Apple Maps

For agents with a shop front, our Local SEO service sets categories, keeps opening hours current, adds photos of the destinations and trips you sell and posts regularly.

  2. Destination and holiday type pages

Package holidays to one country, bespoke tours of another, each on its own page and grouped into clusters, so your site builds authority on the places you know.

  3. Answers before the enquiry

Google shows AI Overviews on searches such as "escorted tours", so each trip page needs plain answers to what travellers ask before booking, written answer-first for overviews and assistants to lift.

  4. Reviews after every trip

A holiday is a large sum to hand to an agent, and reviews from past travellers help reassure the next one. Each client is asked for a review once back from their trip, and every review gets a reply.

  5. Technical health

Fast, mobile-friendly destination pages, Core Web Vitals, structured data, clean indexing and sensible internal links, with orphan pages, broken links and stale trip pages cleared out.

  6. Visibility in AI answers

Under our Generative Engine Optimisation work, your agency's name, specialisms and destinations read identically on your website, profiles and directory listings. Bing is in scope too: ChatGPT's search draws on Bing's index.

Hotels, guest houses and B&Bs are covered by SEO for Hotels.

  • Where a smaller travel business can win

Two of those four traveller searches are hard to rank for. Ahrefs scores "travel agents near me" at 69 and "escorted tours" at 61 out of 100 for keyword difficulty, and for both, the search sending the most traffic to the page ranked first is a travel company's brand name. The other two are rated easy: "tailor made holidays" at 2 and "honeymoon packages" at 0. Scores that low give an independent agent or specialist operator a realistic opening: one strong page per trip it genuinely sells. None of our published case studies is a travel business. Our SEOs have ranked sites in hard to rank industries, up against billion-pound companies and online giants such as MoneySuperMarket, GoCompare and uSwitch.

How it works

How we run a travel SEO campaign

On-page and technical gains: usually four to eight weeks. The hardest travel searches: six to twelve months of work to move. Neither is guaranteed.

  • Step 1 of 4: Audit your site and rivals

The first two weeks: which destination searches your strongest rivals hold, what travellers ask AI assistants, how your site crawls and what your profile lacks, then a ranked fix list.

  • Step 2 of 4: Repair listings and key pages

From week three: profile categories, hours and photos, mobile speed fixes on your busiest destination pages, and extra work on trip pages just below page one.

  • Step 3 of 4: Build destination and tour pages

Your destination, holiday type and tour pages go live in months two and three, answering pre-booking questions directly, with a review request once each client is home.

  • Step 4 of 4: Monthly reports and plans

Rankings for your destinations and trip types, AI and map pack visibility, clicks from Search Console, tracked enquiries and bookings from Google Analytics, and a written plan to approve.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

It is the work of getting a travel business found by people planning a trip, for the destinations, holiday types and tours it sells, on Google Search, Google Maps and AI assistants.

It finds the searches that lead to bookings for your trips, then fixes and builds what ranks for them: technical repairs, destination and tour pages, your profile, reviews and AI visibility. A good travel SEO company reports on enquiries and bookings, not just rankings.

Pair Paid Social, which reaches people before they search, with SEO for the searches travellers do make, from trips such as "honeymoon packages" to the "travel agents near me" map pack if you have a branch. Google Ads buys a place on the results page, but only while you pay.

Give every tour its own page, matched to the phrases travellers type, then earn reviews and mentions on sites Google and AI assistants trust. A page per itinerary gives you more searches to compete for than a single tours list.

Begin with an audit: what the site can already rank for, what is broken and which trips matter most. Then fix speed, mobile and indexing, give each destination and holiday type a page, and replace thin or dated content with real answers.

There is no price list, because every campaign is scoped. The destinations and trips you target, and how hard their searches are, set the size of the work. We review your site and rivals first, then say plainly what it would involve before anything is agreed.
